Good day, everyone! I'm Vanessa Nguyen, and my journey as an international student to Canada in 2017 opened my eyes to a significant challenge among my Vietnamese-Canadian friends: the cultural divide between these individuals and their parents. As a first-generation immigrant who deeply understands and worries about these dynamics in my future family, I was drawn to volunteer with VKids Connect, where I help execute monthly events that bridge generations through cultural connection.

Our activities do more than teach heritage—they weave stronger bonds between parents and children, fostering a space where young Vietnamese-Canadians can proudly embrace both cultures. I'm excited to be part of this mission to nurture empathetic individuals who celebrate their unique identity and build lasting family connections.
